Selecting the Right ADA Compliant Swimming Pool Lift from the Right Company

When you are shopping ADA pool lift options to make your swimming area accessible to everyone, there are a few factors you should consider. Asking these questions when considering the company you’ll choose is critical for safety and reliability.

Who you purchase your pool lift from can make a difference:

  • What if you have a problem with the lift, will the company help with repairs or warranty issues?
  • Although Commercial Pools has a website and sells products nationwide, we are also a service company with real people in the pool business.
  • Is the company in the pool business?
  • Why does this matter? Will your lift comply with pool codes? A pool company has a much better understanding of pool codes than non-pool companies. For example, what about set back issues? How are you going to install the unit? Most units require anchors to be installed. What if you run into a problem installing the anchor? What type of cement should you use? Do you need rebar? Do you need to ground the unit?

Your swimming pool environment makes a difference:

  • Will kids be playing on the unit?
  • If the pool hoist is left in the pool area, will it stand up to the environment?
  • How durable is the lift?

The type of pool lift makes a difference:

  • Should you choose permanent, portable, easily removable, water powered, battery powered, etc.?
  • How many lifts do you need?
  • Do you need to comply with the pool lift regulations in the first place?
  • How are you going to unload these units? Some of the pool lifts weigh 300 to 1200 pounds.

Commercial Pool and Spa Supplies handles a full line of ADA compliant handicap lifts—pool lifts, portable pool lifts, and more. Pool lifts are often referred to as handicapped lifts, access equipment, handicap access, spa lift, access lift, etc. Handicap lifts vary in price, quality, ease of installation, ease of removing. Some pool lifts are water powered, some ADA pool lifts are battery powered.

Not all pools need to comply with the ADA swimming pool lift regulations. The disability access equipment requirements are a little confusing. Please call 1-877-842-4455 to see if your pool needs to comply with the ADA pool regulations.
